Copyright Help

Copyright is the protection provided to the authors or creators of original works, including written, graphic, musical, drama, and audiovisual pieces of work.

Copyright infringement may occur when a work created by another is copied, disseminated, presented, displayed in public, or incorporated into a new piece of work without gaining permission from the original copyright holder.

If your submission contains copyright-infringing material it can lead to the termination of your account, and possibly monetary penalties. The original copyright owner can choose to take legal action against you in order to recover any damages they feel they may have suffered from the misuse of their work. We have included some information below to help you decide whether or not your submission is acceptable or if it may infringe on someone's copyright. However you are responsible for the content you upload. You will find more copyright information on our Copyright Spotlight Page.

Protoad respects the rights of original creators and we expect you to work with us to protect the legal rights of our community as well as the rights of other artists and creators.

How You Can Ensure Your Submission Does Not Infringe On Copyrighted Material.

To ensure that your submission does not infringe on someone's copyrighted material use YOUR talent and imagination to create something original. It can be as simple as you like, sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. Or it can be as complicated as you can envision. If you have created it all you will never have to worry about infringing on someone else's copyright. The copyright will be yours! Remember, your submission must follow the other guidelines in our terms of use, too.

All of the parts of your submission should be your original concept including any audio portion you may have. For example, if you use any part of a sound recording owned by another person or company without their permission, your submission may infringe on their copyright and will be subject to removal.
